PORT OF SANTA MARINELLA
Since ancient times the area was important for its abundance of lakes, connected with sea and river mouths, that could provide easy moorings for the most ancient navigation, held with little vessels . The abundance of fortified emergencies highlights the strategic importance of communications since ancient times. The current characteristic tourist marina of Santa Marinella is situated in an enchanting setting that has as background, among pines and palm trees, the Odescalchi Castle. The port has a capacity of over 200 boats, with a slipway for small ships.
STATE OF CONSERVATION
The current port develops in the northernmost cove and we cannot notice any special attention for a compatible integration with the environment.

The Project
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PROJECT
The project provides a substantial expansion of the port to more than 600 berths, occupying the entire coastal strip currently “privatized” by the owners of the residences on the sea shore. All services, parking, restaurant, offices are harmoniously inserted in a language whose aim is to repair a link with the territory, destroyed by assiduous overbuilding of the coast. The idea is to recreate a large park and an image of a green coast again walk-able by all, where parking lots and services are integrated into an overall design vision. The development of the soil recreates light slopes, where the buildings are housed, accessible from the exterior as public park. At the southern end new residences are located, equipped with berths and private entrance.
